Travel Info

Shalom!

Just a few more responses to questions that have been asked!

*TIME DIFFERENCE: There is a seven hour time difference from eastern time, as of right now - that means Israel is ahead of us by that much; however, for those staying for the extension will see a time change in Israel before our group travels home.

*WEATHER UPDATE : The weather will probably be between 65-80 degrees during the day and between 50-65 degrees at night, I suggest that you pack clothes that you can layer. (Especially since we can’t predict the weather … it could be cooler or warmer!)

CLOTHING RESTRICTIONS: Some have asked if there are certain places where there are restrictions on attire … neither men nor women can wear sleeveless shirts to three locations; Capernaum - in the Galilee, the Garden of Gethsemane and the Temple Mount - in Jerusalem.

In Capernaum - in the Galilee, you also must have your legs covered to the knees.

NEED: Adapters, converters and hair dryers

CAMERAS: If you are bringing digital cameras it is smart to bring extra memory disc - you will probably end up taking lots of pictures and the memory disc are much more expensive there.

PRE-PAID VISA CARDS/American Express or Travelers Checks: Are NOT smart to use in Israel – they are NOT accepted everywhere.

INTERNET ACCESS: You can pay to use the computer room at the Dan in Jerusalem; There is wireless in the lobby at the Gai Beach in Tiberias if you bring your own computer. At the Leonardo Plaze in Eilat you can also pay for internet use.

CHECK-IN/FLIGHT: Double check seat assignments, and give your frequent flyer number.

BAGGAGE: There is a fee for additional baggage.

Just a reminder about plugs in Israel - there is a plug in your bathroom that looks like an American plug-in … be sure not to use it for anything but what it is marked!

Remember, you can reach me at 423-821-3635 anytime between now and the day of departure.
